The Background
Hanley Mortgages was set up in 2002 with the sole purpose of serving the IFA and Intermediary/Introducer community in the mortgage market. We are dedicated to that channel. We do not advertise. We receive all of our business via third party referrals.
Most clients need professional mortgage advice to run in tandem with their overall financial planning. When reviewing their investment or pension planning, clients should also review their present mortgage arrangements. To that end Hanley Mortgages was established to take referrals from other professionals who might not Have the time or inclination to advise on mortgages, Be registered to advise on mortgages, Have the time to keep abreast of a rapidly changing market with over 200 lenders offering over 4000 products
The Company
Hanley Mortgages offers mortgage advice only. We do not offer Investment, Pension, Buildings and Contents advice etc. We are registered with the FSA to give mortgage advice from 31st October 2004.
This is a family business run by Tracey and Richard Turner, both of whom are qualified. Tracey has 15 years experience in recommending and advising on mortgages. Richard was an IFA for some years before joining Tracey to establish the company.
The Method
All of our advice is offered over the telephone or by email. Clients are also welcome to visit us at our offices in Hanley Swan. Working this way helps to keep our fees down and offers greater value for money to your clients.
We are independent advisers. Our software helps us to focus in on schemes that are available from all the different lenders in the UK. Tracey’s huge knowledge, linked with her relationship with the lenders (developed over a long period of time), helps to place the more difficult enquiries efficiently and without fuss.
We contact referrals quickly, take our time to understand their background and mortgage objectives and tailor our report specifically to their needs. We tell the client the product we are recommending and the reason why. We do not offer them a panel and ask them to pick.
Fees
We feel that we can be truly independent if we charge a fee. We value our time and professionalism. To that end we charge a fee if a client instructs us to act on their behalf to research, recommend and report. The fee is £295.
However, with all enquiries we offer a free initial conversation to determine whether we can be of assistance to your client and whether they wish to utilise our services.
In most cases we are able to provide an agreement of the loan from the most appropriate lending source prior to any formal instruction.
